Power Stroke Distance
Calculate how far a vehicle travels between two consecutive power strokes across all cylinders of its engine.

Model assumption
The model assumes a fixed mechanical coupling between the engine and the wheels and actual combustion. Clutch slip, torque-converter slip, tyre slip and fuel cut-off during overrun are not considered.

Power strokes are treated as evenly spaced across all cylinders.

How it is calculated
Vehicle speed is converted to metres per second. A four-stroke engine produces z / 2 power strokes per crankshaft revolution; a two-stroke engine produces z.

s = (v / 3.6) / f
